Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore deeper into the depths of her personal world. The food she serves evokes fascination that grew from moving outside the suburbs of Long Island and into the culturally diverse landscape that is Los Angeles. The carnetas and the Cavatelli, she believes, can coexist on the same menu. Her taste is constantly changing. But what remains is her distinctive vision of the future while looking back to the past. Motivated by her American-born Italian heritage, Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 which was immediately well received. The interpretation that Lofaso has given to classic Italian is widely praised for being among the most compelling eateries for Italian cooking within Los Angeles. Lofaso has been praised by a lot of people as a local favorite who consistently delivers meals that are delicious, authentic and inviting. Lofaso had been an apprentice chef to master chefs taking their tips as well as taking risks. She never hesitated in doing so, merely following her own intuition. She worked closely with many celebrities and rose rapidly through the ranks in Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in 2011. The Lofaso is now settling in Black Market, and through the alliances she made. Lofaso would find the freedom to express her creativity that she longed for through this partnership. Black Market has no one plan in sight and it is that way. The menu could start with chips of dill potato as well as shishito chillies, then go on to a Korean food item called meatballs, and wings. Antonia is the linchpin of this dizzying array. Through her entire career, Lofaso has measured her achievements through her ability to comprehend her audience but still remain true to her own personality. Her appearances on the Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars emphasized her ability to express her personality outside of the kitchen. In the years since she's maintained her work in front of cameras with CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge, as well as recurring appearances on the Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso has released her book, The Busy Mother's Cookbook: 100 Quick and Delicious Recipes in 2012, with Penguin. The book also tells the tale of her struggles when she was a student at the French Culinary Institute. She had a daughter, Xea and her son Xea. Lofaso believes that the motivation that drives her success is rooted in the kitchen, and it's in this way that she keeps her an eye on the pulse of. She is transforming the design by creating chef's wear with a focus on style and function, through her brand Chefletics. Lofaso's main concern is to stay true to her vision. With this in mind she has launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. This provides customers with an extremely personal experience.
