Christina Haack was conceived in Anaheim, California. After graduating, her first job was in the real estate business. It was here that she met Tarek. The couple had a very prosperous business, until 2008, when real estate agents or house flippers as well as others went bankrupt. Tarek El Moussa & Christina El Moussa had a chance to be bankrupted by the market crash in 2008. Their apartment was $700 per week, compared to the $6,000 that they were paying per month for their house. Slowly, their business and the overall economy recovered. HGTV and Rise to Fame Tarek enlisted a buddy to help make an HGTV audition video in the year 2011. The tape featured Tarek and Christina working together to flip the inside of a home. The tape ended up in the executive offices of a production company called Pie Town Productions. They were enthralled by Christina and Tarek's love story. They officially signed a agreement with HGTV in the year 2012. Then, in April of 2013, "Flip of Flop" was launched. Between 2013 until 2017, the show ran 92 episodes in seven seasons. On the show, Christina and Tarek would purchase properties, usually homes with a moderate income situated in Orange County, and would then proceed to spend several months making improvements so that they could flip the property in order to earn an income. Tarek takes care of construction, demolition and renovations. Christina keeps everything running on schedule.
