RachelRachel Keller is a fictional character from The Ring film series. The fictional character of Rachel Keller was developed by Ehren Kruger. Naomi Watts plays the role. Rachel is required to dig into the background of Samara Morgan when her son suffers from an unknown illness. Ruth asks Rachel Keller as an investigative journalist to look into the cause of Katie's death. She tells Rachel that she discovered her daughter's distorted corpse in the closet. She also reveals that her official cause of death was due to a heart attack, despite Katie being healthy and healthy for a teenager. Katie's friends inform Rachel about the legend of the cursed videotape and that Becca Katie's friend was placed in a mental institution after seeing Katie's death. Katie's boyfriend and her two friends also died in strange accidents the same night at 10 pm. Rachel goes to Shelter Mountain Inn and stays in Cabin 12, which is the same cabin where Katie and her friends saw the videotape they believed was cursed. Rachel finds the tape and after it is finished when the phone starts to ring. Rachel hears a voice utter "seven days". Rachel is identified as Noah Clay as a video analyst by her ex-boyfriend. Rachel finds out later that Aidan, Noah's son, observed the tape and believed that Noah was calling her. He informs Rachel that the tape is believed by Rachel. Rachel investigates the lighthouse on the tape and discovers that it was situated on Moesko Island, the home of a tragic horse breeder named Anna Morgan, who appeared on the videotape with the curse. Rachel found out that Anna had an adopted child named Samara who could cause disturbing images into the minds and bodies of animals, people, and other objects. Rachel confronts Anna's widower Richard. Richard makes Rachel leave the scene as when she starts asking questions regarding Samara.
